Sitting in between the streets of Brand Boulevard and Central Avenue, Lebasse Projects and the city of Glendale will be bringing a large sculpture by Forma Studios to the median on West Glenoaks Boulevard.
The sculpture is inspired by the Verdugo Mountains Skyline, and will be a functional piece of art that illuminates the street.
Forma Studios “Hahamonga” is in development and part of a greater mission by the city of Glendale to construct more public art in the city.

LeBasse Projects and Hines chose the Brooklyn-based artist duo Faile to create two artworks at the Hines new development, West Edge in West Los Angeles.
Faile’s work titled “Greater Heights” includes a mural work that coincides with the tile mosaic artwork on the facade of the stairs.

“The Grove” is an upcoming public artwork from artist Marc Fornes (THEVERYMANY). The large scale installation is currently in development and is expected to install in 2024. The artwork is part of the adjacent development by Hackman Capital, and the home of Amazon Studios.
Marc Fornes’ artwork was inspired by the character of the Jacaranda tree lined boulevards of the Los Angeles region. The installation will give the public a place to gather and surely be a landmark artwork for Culver City.

3512-16 Schaffer and 8570 National are two adjoining sites combined as a single development from Redcar. LBP worked with Redcar’s team to select The Haas Brothers, Simon and Nikolai Haas, to deliver two sculptures for the site. The Haas brothers were chosen because of their unique style of artwork, and their personal connection to the community of Culver City.

Huntington Health is developing a new medical office building located in the heart of Pasadena and a short walk from the Huntington Hospital main campus. The proposed new building is of contemporary design with a flat roof, curving and articulated massing, extensive curtain wall glazing juxtaposed against solid framing volumes and a strong projecting roofline. The building is anchored by an open corner plaza to welcome visitors and employees of the new building.
LeBasse Projects and Huntington Health are commissioning artists for three separate installations at the new campus. The aim for all three artwork opportunities is to create world-class public artwork in a diverse range of mediums that are designed to engage the community, align with HH mission of 'compassionate community care', showcase the cultural diversity of the City and enhance the various civic and public spaces.

With an expected opening in 2021, the Culver Public Market Hall Project is a highly-anticipated 1.6 acre project including a public market of artisanal vendors will feature specialty products such as cheeses and charcuterie, baked goods, chocolate and related confections, wine, locally grown produce, coffee, flowers, organic meats, and other high-quality products.
LBP is excited to deliver iconic new works of public art to what developer Regency Centers describes as a “place-making landmark” that will be “devoted to culinary creativity, quality, and experience.”

Located between The Culver Studios and Culver Hotel, award-winning The Culver Steps will offer 45,000 square feet of curated retail space, 80,000 square feet of creative office space, and a near-acre-sized public plaza.
LeBasse Projects is working with Hackman Capital Partners to imagine this “walkable urban hub” in the Heart of Screenland. The artist selection process is currently in its final stages, with proposed designs underway from a shortlist of artists.
The Culver Step’s prime location has been a powerful draw for retailers such as Sephora, Mendocino Farms, CorePower Yoga, Philz Coffee, and Salt & Straw. Amazon Studios moved into the entirety of the office portion of the four-story building in 2019.
Within a three-mile radius of The Culver Steps there are more than 300,000 residents, 200,000 employees, and $4,740,000,000 in annual retail spend.

From Hudson Pacific Properties and designed by Gensler, Epic is a 13-story tower that will soar 230 feet above street level, offering 300,000 square feet of offices and retail space, in addition to parking for over 800 vehicles.
Located across the street from the historic Sunset Bronson Studios campus, the mid-rise edifice will be highlighted by a series of lush terrace levels along the northern side of the property, gradually stepping down the building's height as it approaches an adjacent residential neighborhood. From the top, the tower offers panoramic views to the Hollywood Hills, Pacific Ocean, and Downtown Los Angeles.
Hudson Pacific partnered with LeBasse Projects to produce and deliver exciting works of public art to this inspiring new development. LA-based artist Tofer Chin was selected and his metal sculptures were installed during the spring of 2020.

Ivy Station is a highly-anticipated upcoming Culver City development, located at the intersections of Venice, Washington, and National Boulevards. HBO will occupy all 240,000 square feet of creative office space for its new corporate headquarters. The project will also include 200 apartments, 50,000 square feet of restaurant and retail space, and a 148-room hotel.
LeBasse Projects is managing a 1% Arts in Public Places fee for LOWE, and expects to deliver some iconic works of art to the project. Artists have been selected for the range of public art, which includes painted murals, mosaic, and sculpture by Steph Hendrix, FAILE, Tomokazu Matsuyama, and Sage Vaughn.
LBP is also developing a programming calendar for Ivy Station, beginning Summer, 2020. Programming has been approved by the Department of Cultural Affairs and will include performance art, lectures, concerts, workshops, classes with a focus on community engagement, arts education, and seasonal temporary art installations.

LeBasse Projects commissioned six mural installations and eight site-specific and permanent public sculptures for a community in Orange County, California. Integrated into the landscape and pathways, the sculptures are part of a community Art Walk.
The project is helmed by FivePoint, whose specialty is creating large mixed-use communities across California. Great Park Neighborhoods is a new 8,000 home community in Irvine with an ever-growing collection of communities, each anchored by a uniquely-designed park, all of which are shared by the residents of the greater neighborhood.
LBP worked with the developer, architects, landscape designers, and community residents to determine the most impactful art locations, curate a diverse list of artists, deliver permanent and temporary murals and sculptures. LBP also collaborated with Portola High School’s art class in the development of one of the sculptures and a community exhibit. To celebrate completion of the art pieces, LBP designed and executed programming for the Cadence Park Art Walk in September, 2019.
Artists for these public works include: Aaron De La Cruz, Dog and Pony, Kristin Farr, Nate Frizzell, Jen Kuroki, Douglas Tausik Ryder, Jen Stark, Sage Vaughn, UrbanRock Design, and Portola High School students.
In development are two shade structures and a lending library. Ongoing public art programming will also include temporary installations.

Great Park Neighborhoods Irvine, CA
As part of the continuing community projects within Great Park Neighborhoods, LeBasse Projects commissioned the artist team Studio Tutto to create a memorable and engaging shade structure installation along a pathway between homes.
The installation titled “Fire and Rain”was inspired by the artists thoughts about the fires and climate issues in California. The highly detailed steel shade structure depicts the Tecate Cypress tree local to Orange County and its relationship with both fire and rain.
Great Park Neighborhoods Irvine, CA
LeBasse Projects partnered with artist team LC Studio Tutto to deliver a massive shade sail installation overhead a community overlook at Great Park Neighborhoods.
The installation titled “Celestial” is made up of Swirling lines layered over watercolor blues, suggesting wind currents and migration paths. Native birds bring life to the abstracted skies. Celestial is an installation of sky-inspired sails to shade the elevated deck of a sun-filled Southern California park in Irvine.

LeBasse Projects teamed up with LA-based, multimedia artist Jen Stark to design and paint a mural spanning the entire facade of Unfold Agency out of their new office in Culver City.
Unfold Agency is a digital creative agency specializing in social media, online advertising, key art design, and web development for top brands and entertainment companies.

LeBasse Projects partnered with paper sculpture artist Jeff Nishinaka for an installation at Westfield Century City.
Filling three of the window display vitrines along Santa Monica Boulevard in celebration of Lunar New Year 2019, Nishinaka created Chinese lanterns which were all hand-cut and painted. LBP also collaborated with Nishinaka on a 3-dimensional hanging chandelier installation above the Concierge Desk on Level 1.

Located in a parking garage in Causeway Bay, Hong Kong Times Square, artists KAMI and SASU painted an all free-hand mural, produced by LeBasse Projects.
KAMI and SASU form the collaborative duo HITOTZUKI, which stands for "sun and moon" — an implication that while the two artists are contrary to one another, they also fuse together. Through their flowing, floral and astral visual language, the artist duo depicts the sceneries of their lifestyle and feelings.

LBP worked with Brooklyn-based collaborators FAILE to create a custom and unique mosaic tiled installation on the outer facade of the Los Angeles' Arts District's mixed-use development.
Named for its address, 405 Mateo Street reactivated the 1924 Maxwell Coffee Building with approximately 56,000 square feet of creative office space atop ground-floor commercial uses. The building's historic architectural features — including wood-stamped concrete ceilings, a brick facade, and oversized windows — were preserved under the design by Ware Macomb.

LeBasse Projects and artist HOT TEA (Eric Rieger) worked with renowned architecture firm Gensler to design and install a massive scaled hanging installation in Auckland, New Zealand's new International Airport Terminal. As the busiest airport in New Zealand, the Auckland Airport received more than 20 million travelers in 2018.
New Zealand is known for its sun-showers – light rain while the sun shines – which often occur daily. This massive, atmospheric hanging installation by award-winning artist Rieger was inspired by these spontaneous showers. As the keystone of the departures atrium, it was created for local New Zealanders and foreign visitors: to invoke pride of country and to nurture a desire to return to this singular environment.

LeBasse Projects worked with visual artist Sage Vaughn for a contemporary holiday installation at Westfield Century City.
Filling four of the window display vitrines along Santa Monica Boulevard, Vaughn’s signature butterfly paintings spelled out the word “JOY” in celebration of the winter season holidays. LBP also collaborated with Vaughn on an installation of butterflies wrapping around the outdoor staircase, connecting the 1st and 2nd floors of Westfield.

LeBasse Projects partnered with Hudson Pacific Properties on an historic buildings in the heart of Los Angeles’ Arts District to create a modern installation using a traditional public art medium.
As part of the redevelopment of the Coca-Cola Plant, artist Brendan Monroe’s mural created an entirely new feel to the building, which faces the main strip of Traction Avenue.
The mural’s clean aesthetic and well designed reflection of the Hollywood Hills redefines what public art can be, as the new mixed-use development redefines the creative office experience.

PLATFORM is the reimagining of a four-acre 1960s Los Angeles auto dealership into a creative collection of eight spaces connected by gardens.
Now surrounded by Apple’s Beats headquarters, Maker Studios, Sony Pictures, and Smashbox Studios, PLATFORM has been transformed into a unique indoor-outdoor urban oasis of singular merchants, eateries, and creative businesses.
LeBasse Projects selected artist Jen Stark to design and execute Technicolor Drip, her first mural in Los Angeles and her largest at the time. This multi-building mural connects the two ends of PLATFORM in Culver City, creating one of the most recognizable gateways into the city.

LeBasse Projects participated in OUTSIDEIN :: The Ascendance of Street Art in Visual Culture, a group exhibition at Pasadena's ArtCenter College of Design.
Co-curated by art educator and writer, G. James Daichendt, and produced by LeBasse Projects in conjunction with ArtCenter, the exhibition showcased mural-sized paintings by renowned artists including RISK, Kenny Scharf, Shepard Fairey, James Jean, Geoff McFetridge, Jeff Soto, CHASE, Cryptik, David Flores, Olivia Bevilacqua, and Jeanne Detallante.
OUTSIDEIN spanned the entire ArtCenter Campus between the Hillside and South Campus locations – the first multi-campus exhibition for the school.

Closing out 2014, LeBasse Projects brought the Contrast Series and Los Angeles-based artist Bumblebee to Santa Monica. Beach Day towers 32 feet, overlooking the iconic beach community.
With a focus on themes of innocence, communication and coming of age, Bumblebee’s stencil and sculptural works are most often rendered in the simple, and instantly identifiable, color palette of yellow and black.

A collaboration between LeBasse Projects and Industry Partners, the Contrast Mural Series included an international roster of artists invited to paint murals across some of the most desirable property locations and creative work spaces in the city.
Industry Partners, a Santa Monica based real estate services firm, and LeBasse Projects developed the idea of “contrast” in order to build cultural value into the fabric of neighborhood and community properties.
For the first Contrast mural, German-based duo Herakut was brought to LA to paint in Santa Monica and Playa Vista, enhancing both neighborhoods with their signature style and leaving those communities with powerful messages.

Hudson Pacific Properties Los Angeles, CA
Hudson Pacific Properties allocated the Art Development Fee for One Westside towards an arts emergency grant for artists impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. This initiative directly supported the community of artists in Los Angeles by providing unrestricted aid, allowing artists to recoup lost funds from cancelled programs or to support ongoing creative endeavors. The grant focused on supporting artists that are traditionally underrepresented, including artists of color, disabled artists, female artists, and artists part of the LGBTQ+ community. Grant recipients were also chosen based on their work that sought to enrich and inform the public on important subjects such as social justice, civil rights, the physical environment, and other contemporary issues.
